Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the swift scatterers 1 And those that bear the burden (of the rain) 2 Then by oath of those which move with ease. 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 Indeed, what you are promised is true. 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 though only those who are averse to the Truth will turn away from (believing in it). 9 Destroyed are the falsifiers 10 Those who are in heedlessness neglectful. 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 It will be the Day when they are tormented at the Fire. 13 "Taste you your trial (burning)! This is what you used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Surely the godfearing shall be among gardens and fountains 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope]. 17 And used to seek forgiveness before dawn. 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 There are signs in the earth for those who are firm in their faith, 20 And in your own selves; so can you not perceive? 21 And in heaven is [the source of] your sustenance [on earth] and [of] all that you are promised [for your life after death]: 22 Then, by the Lord of heaven and earth, this is the very Truth, as much as the fact that ye can speak intelligently to each other. 23
