The dwellers of Al-Aiyka [near Madyan (Midian)] belied the Messengers. 176 When Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 177 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 178 So fear Allah, and obey me. 179 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 180 ۞ "[Always] give full measure, and be not among those who [unjustly] cause loss [to others]; 181 "And weigh with the true and straight balance. 182 “And do not give the people their goods diminished, and do not roam the earth causing turmoil.” 183 Fear Him who created you and those who have gone before you." 184 They said: You are only of those deluded; 185 and a mere mortal like us. We think you are a liar. 186 So cause thou a fragment of the heaven to fall upon us, if thou art of the truth-tellers. 187 (Shu'aib) said: "My Lord knows well what you are doing." 188 But they denied him, so there came on them the retribution of the day of gloom. Lo! it was the retribution of an awful day. 189 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 190 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 191

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
