Now, behold, this [divine writ] has indeed been bestowed from on high by the Sustainer of all the worlds: 192 brought down by the Faithful Spirit 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayst be (one) of the warners, 194 in clear Arabic speech. 195 And lo! it is in the Scriptures of the men of old. 196 Was it not a sign for them known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 Had We revealed it to any of the non-Arabs, 198 who would have read it to them, they (pagans) would not have believed in it. 199 Thus it passes through the hearts of the criminals. 200 They will not believe therein until they behold the torment afflictive. 201 It shall come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not; 202 they say: "Can we be granted some respite?" 203 What! do they still seek to hasten on Our punishment? 204 What do you see? If We gave them enjoyment for years, 205 Then there comes to them that with which they are threatened, 206 They would not be availed by the enjoyment with which they were provided. 207 And withal, never have We destroyed any community unless it had been warned 208 To remind, and We are never unjust. 209 And the Shaitans have not come down with it. 210 It would neither suit them nor would they be able (to produce it). 211 Indeed they have been banished from the place of hearing. 212 Therefore do not worship another deity along with Allah, for you will be punished. 213 And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest kindred. 214 And lower your wing to those who follow you of the believers. 215 And if they disobey you, then say, "Indeed, I am disassociated from what you are doing." 216 And rely upon the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 217 who sees you when you stand 218 And watches your movements among those who prostrate in prayer. 219 Indeed only He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 220 Shall I inform you (of him) upon whom the Shaitans descend? 221 They come down on every guilty impostor. 222 on those who whisper hearsay in the ears of people; and most of them are liars. 223 Only the erring people follow the poets. 224 Have you not seen how they wander in every valley, 225 and how they say that which they do not? 226 Not so the true believers who do good works and remember God with fervour and defend themselves only after they are wronged. The wrongdoers will soon know how evil a turn their affairs will take. 227
God the Almighty always says the truth.
