Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 Then those clouds bearing the load (of minute things in space). 2 and the smooth runners 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 What you are threatened with is most surely true, 5 And verily, the Recompense is sure to happen. 6 By the heaven with its passages, 7 Verily ye are in a divided opinion. 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 who are heedless in the immersion. 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 It will be the Day when they shall be scourged by the Fire 13 [And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient." 14 Verily the God-fearing will be amid Gardens and water-springs. 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 16 Little of the night would they slumber, 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 And on the earth there are signs for those who would be convinced. 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 There is in the heavens your sustenance, and whatever has been promised you. 22 Then, by the Lord of heaven and earth, this is the very Truth, as much as the fact that ye can speak intelligently to each other. 23
