In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta Ha. 1 We have not revealed the Quran to you that you may be unsuccessful. 2 Except as a reminder for one who fears. 3 A revelation from Him Who created the earth and the heavens on high. 4 The Most Gracious Who, befitting His Majesty, took to the Throne (of control). 5 To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth, and all that lies between them, and underneath the soil. 6 Whether you say a thing aloud or inaudibly, He has knowledge of the secret and the hidden. 7 Allah – there is no worship except for Him; His only are the best names. 8 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 9 When he saw a fire, he said to his family, "Wait here. I can see a fire. Perhaps I can bring you a brand from it, or find some guidance at the fire." 10 When he came close to it, a voice called out, "Moses, 11 I am thy Lord; put off thy shoes; thou art in the holy valley, Towa. 12 "I have chosen thee: listen, then, to the inspiration (sent to thee). 13 Verily I! I am Allah! no God there is but I; so worship Me, and establish prayer for My remembrance. 14 "Verily, the Hour is coming and My Will is to keep it hidden that every person may be rewarded for that which he strives. 15 So do not let those who do not believe in it and follow their vain desires, turn you away from it. 16 And what is that in thy right hand, O Moses? 17 'Why, it is my staff,' said Moses. 'I lean upon it, and with it I beat down leaves to feed my sheep; other uses also I find in it. 18 (Allah) said: "Cast it down, O Musa (Moses)!" 19 So Moosa put it down – thereupon it became a fast moving serpent. 20 He said: Grasp it and fear not. We shall return it to its former state. 21 And draw in your hand to your side; it will come out white without disease - another sign, 22 so that We might make thee aware of some of Our greatest wonders. 23 Go thou unto Pharaoh! Lo! he hath transgressed (the bounds). 24

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
