And a sign to them is the dead earth: We give life to it and bring forth from it grain so they eat of it. 33 And We make therein gardens of palms and grapevines and We make springs to flow forth in it, 34 That they may eat of the fruit thereof; and their hands worked it not. Will they not, therefore, give thanks? 35 Purity is to Him Who created all pairs, from what the earth grows, and of themselves, and from the things they do not know. 36 And a sign for them is the night. We remove from it [the light of] day, so they are [left] in darkness. 37 The sun is running its course to its appointed place. That is the ordaining of the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing. 38 And the moon, We have determined it in phases till it returns like an old palmbranch. 39 Neither is it allowable to the sun that it should overtake the moon, nor can the night outstrip the day; and all float on in a sphere. 40 And a sign for them is that We carried their offspring in the laden Ark (of Noah). 41 and then created for them other vessels like those on which they ride. 42 And if We please, We can drown them, then there shall be no succorer for them, nor shall they be rescued 43 Unless by mercy from Us and as comfort for a while. 44 And when it is said to them: Guard against what is before you and what is behind you, that mercy may be had on you. 45 Not a Sign comes to them from among the Signs of their Lord, but they turn away therefrom. 46 When they are told to spend for the cause of God out of what He has provided for them for their sustenance, the disbelievers say to the believers, "Should we feed those whom God has decided to feed? You are in plain error." 47 They say: “When will this threat (of Resurrection) come to pass? Tell us if indeed you are truthful.” 48 They await not but one shout, which shall lay hold of them while they are yet wrangling. 49 Then they will not be able to make a will or return to their families. 50
