Noah called to Us, and We are the Best to answer. 75 And We rescued him and his household from the great calamity. 76 And his offspring! them We made the survivors. 77 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations to come in later times: 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all beings!' 79 Thus do We reward all those who do good. 80 He was one of Our believing servants. 81 Then We drowned the others 82 ۞ And lo! of his persuasion verily was Abraham 83 He turned to his Lord with a sound heart 84 and when he said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood- gods other than Allah- that ye desire? 86 What do you imagine the Lord of the worlds to be?" 87 And he cast a look at the stars 88 and said: 'Surely, I am sick (of what you worship)' 89 So they turned away from him, and departed (for fear of the disease). 90 Then he turned to their aliha (gods) and said: "Will you not eat (of the offering before you)? 91 What is the matter with you, that you do not speak' 92 And he turned upon them a blow with [his] right hand. 93 So the disbelievers came running towards him. 94 He said, "Do you worship that which you [yourselves] carve, 95 and God created you and what you make?' 96 They said: Build for him a furnace, then cast him into the burning fire. 97 And they designed a snare for him, but We made them the undermost. 98 And [Abraham] said: "Verily, I shall [leave this land and] go wherever my Sustainer will guide me!" 99 [And he prayed:] "O my Sustainer! Bestow upon me the gift of [a son who shall be] one of the righteous!" 100 Wherefore We gave him the glad tidings of a boy gentle. 101 And when he attained to working with him, he said: O my son! surely I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice you; consider then what you see. He said: O my father! do what you are commanded; if Allah please, you will find me of the patient ones. 102 And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead, 103 And We called out to him, “O Ibrahim!” 104 You have indeed shown the truth of the vision; surely thus do We reward the doers of good: 105 For this was obviously a trial- 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And We left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 108 "Peace upon Abraham." 109 Thus indeed do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 110 Verily, he was one of Our believing slaves. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaque (Isaac) a Prophet from the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. And of their seed are some who do good, and some who plainly wrong themselves. 113
