The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 that hide, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Then where are you going? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
