And recite to them the news of Abraham. 69 When he said unto his father and his folk: What worship ye? 70 They said, "We worship idols and remain to them devoted." 71 He said, 'Do they hear you when you call, 72 Or, benefit they you or hurt they you? 73 They said: "Nay, but we found our fathers doing so." 74 Abraham said, "Have you really thought about what you have been worshipping, 75 you and your forefathers -- 76 Indeed, they are enemies to me, except the Lord of the worlds, 77 Who created me, and He doth guide me, 78 and He gives me to eat and drink, 79 “And when I fall ill, so it is He Who heals me.” 80 who makes me to die and then revives me, 81 "And Who, I hope will forgive me my faults on the Day of Recompense, (the Day of Resurrection)," 82 "O my Sustainer! Endow me with the ability to judge [between right and wrong,] and make me one with the righteous, 83 Make my words come true in the future. 84 “And make me among the inheritors of the Gardens of serenity.” 85 "Forgive my father, for that he is among those astray; 86 and disgrace me not on the Day when people will be raised to life, 87 The day when wealth and sons avail not (any man) 88 except what is done in obedience to God with a submissive heart. 89 and Paradise shall be brought forward to the cautious. 90 And Hell is brought near to the perverse' 91 It shall be said to them, 'Where is that you were serving 92 instead of God? Can these [things and beings] be of any help to you or to themselves?" 93 Then will they be hurled therein, they and the seducers 94 and the hosts of Iblis - all together. 95 They shall say, as they dispute there one with another, 96 "We were clearly misguided 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 “And none misled us but the guilty.” 99 We have no intercessors now, 100 "'Nor a single friend to feel (for us). 101 “So if only were we to go back, in order to become Muslims!” 102 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not believers. 103 Verily your Lord is mighty and merciful. 104

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
