Therefore continue to remind, for by the grace of your Lord, you are not a soothsayer, or a madman. 29 If they say, "He is but a poet; we are waiting for some misfortune to befall him," 30 Say: Wait, for surely I too with you am of those who wait. 31 Is it that their faculties of understanding urge them to this, or are they but a people transgressing beyond bounds? 32 Or do they say, "He fabricated the (Message)"? Nay, they have no faith! 33 Let them then produce a recital like unto it (the Quran) if they are truthful. 34 Have they not been created from some source, or are they themselves the creators? 35 Have they created the heavens and the earth? In fact, they have no strong faith. 36 Are with them the treasures of thy Lord! or are they the dispensers? 37 Or do they have a ladder (climbing which) they can hear (the secrets of heaven)? Let one who has heard then bring a clear proof. 38 Do the daughters belong to Him and the sons to you? 39 Or is it that [they who reject thy message, O Muhammad, fear lest] thou ask of them a reward, so that they would be burdened with debt [if they should listen to thee]? 40 Or possess they the Unseen so that they can write (it) down? 41 Or do they want to entrap [thee in contradictions]? But they who are bent on denying the truth - it is they who are truly entrapped! 42 Or have they a god, other than God? Glory be to God, above that which they associate! 43 If they should see a part of the heavens falling down, they would say, "A mass of clouds," 44 So leave them alone till they meet their Day, in which they will sink into a fainting (with horror). 45 A day in which their guile will naught avail them, nor will they be helped. 46 And verily, for those who do wrong, there is another punishment (i.e. the torment in this world and in their graves) before this, but most of them know not. Glorify your Lord when you rise during the night 48 and glorify Him after the setting of the stars. 49
