▼ 55 The All Compassionate
Al-Rahman 3 of 3
But for him who lived in awe of the sublimity of his Lord, there will be two gardens -- 46 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 47 Having in them various kinds. 48 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 49 In the two gardens there will be two flowing springs. 50 Which of the favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 51 In them (both) will be every kind of fruit in pairs. 52 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 53 (They shall) recline on couches lined with brocade, and the fruits of the Gardens will be near at hand. 54 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 55 Therein are maidens who restrain their glances, whom neither human nor jinn have touched before. 56 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 57 As though rubies and pearls. 58 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 59 Should the reward of goodness be aught else but goodness? -- 60 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 61 And besides these two, there are two other Gardens,- 62 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 63 Dark green (in colour). 64 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 65 In both of them are two springs gushing forth. 66 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 67 therein fruits, and palm-trees, and pomegranates -- 68 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 69 There will be well-disciplined, beautiful maidens. 70 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 71 They are houris (maidens of Paradise), hidden from view, in pavilions. 72 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 73 Whom neither man nor jinni will have touched before them - 74 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 75 [They will live in such a paradise] reclining upon green cushions and the finest carpets. 76 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 77 Blessed be the name of thy Lord, full of Majesty, Bounty and Honour. 78
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
