Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 storming tempestuously 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 until an appointed time? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 “Move towards the shadow of the smoke having three branches.” 30 “Which neither gives shade, nor saves from the flame.” 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
