۞ "Bring ye up", it shall be said, "The wrong-doers and their wives, and the things they worshipped- 22 Other than Allah, and guide them to the path of Hellfire 23 And halt them, to be questioned: 24 "What is the matter with you that you do not help each other?" 25 No, today they will resign themselves in submission, 26 And some of them shall advance towards others, questioning each other. 27 "It was you who tried to mislead us from righteousness". 28 They will say: "No, you were the ones who would not believe. 29 Moreover, we had no power at all over you: nay, you were people filled with overweening arrogance! 30 But now our Sustainer's word has come true against us [as well]: verily, we are bound to taste [the fruit of our sins]. 31 So then, [if it be true that] we have caused you to err grievously - behold, we ourselves had been lost in grievous error!" 32 On that Day, they will all share the chastisement. 33 Verily that is how We shall deal with Sinners. 34 They were those who, when it was said to them, "There is no god but God," behaved with insolence, 35 and would say: "Shall we, then, give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 "Surely, he has brought the truth, confirming those who were sent before; 37 (They will be told), "You will certainly suffer the painful torment 38 but you shall not be recompensed except for what you were doing. 39 But the chosen servants of God; 40 Whose provision is predetermined -- 41 fruits. And they are receivers of generosity 42 In Gardens of Felicity, 43 On thrones facing one another. 44 Cups of wine will be presented to them in rounds, from a spring flowing in front of them. 45 delicious to those who drink it 46 causing no headiness or intoxication. 47 Theirs shall be wide-eyed maidens with bashful, restrained glances, 48 so delicate as the hidden peel under an egg's shell. 49 Then they will turn to one another and question one another. 50 Said one of the speakers: "I had a friend 51 who would say: "Are you among the believers (of the resurrection)? 52 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be requited?" 53 He will say, "Would you [care to] look?" 54 He will look down and see him in hell. 55 He said: "By Allah! thou wast little short of bringing me to perdition! 56 “And were it not for the munificence of my Lord, I too would have been seized and brought forth (captive)!” 57 (Allah informs about that true believer that he said): "Are we then not to die (any more)? 58 "Except our first death, and that we shall not be punished?" 59 This is indeed the mighty triumph, 60 For the like of this, then, let the workers work. 61 Is Paradise a better accommodation or the tree of zaqqum? 62 Verily, We have caused it to be a trial for evildoers: 63 It is a tree that grows in the nethermost part of Hell. 64 Its emerging fruit as if it was heads of the devils. 65 They will eat and fill their bellies with it, 66 then on top of it they have a brew of boiling water, 67 And afterward, lo! their return is surely unto hell. 68 Verily they found their fathers gone astray. 69 Yet they hasten to follow in their footsteps. 70 Most of the ancient people had also gone astray. 71 although, verily, We had sent warners unto them: 72 Then see what was the end of those who were admonished (but heeded not),- 73 Not so the chosen servants of God. 74
