Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ BLESSED BE HE who holds the (reins of) Kingship in His hand, who has power over everything, 1 Who hath created life and death that He may try you which of you is best in conduct; and He is the Mighty, the Forgiving, 2 who created the seven heavens, one above the other. You cannot see any inconsistency in the creation of the Merciful. Return your gaze, do you see any crack! 3 Then repeat thy look twice over, and thy look will return unto thee dim and it will have become wearied out. 4 And we have, (from of old), adorned the lowest heaven with Lamps, and We have made such (Lamps) (as) missiles to drive away the Evil Ones, and have prepared for them the Penalty of the Blazing Fire. 5 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord there is the doom of hell, a hapless journey's end! 6 They will hear it hissing when they will be thrown into it, and it is boiling. 7 nearly bursting apart out of rage. Every time a host is cast therein, its keepers will ask them: 'Did no one come to warn you' 8 They will say: "Yes indeed; a Warner did come to us, but we rejected him and said, 'Allah never sent down any (Message): ye are nothing but an egregious delusion!'" 9 And they will then say: 'If only we had listened and understood we should not now be among the inhabitants of the Blaze' 10 Thus will they come to realize their sins: but [by that time,] remote will have become all good from those who are destined for the blazing flame. 11 Indeed, those who fear their Lord unseen will have forgiveness and great reward. 12 And conceal your speech or publicize it; indeed, He is Knowing of that within the breasts. 13 Shall He not know, who created? And He is the All-subtle, the All-aware. 14
