The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the sky containing great stars 1 and [then bethink thyself of] the promised Day, 2 And by the Day witnessing and the Day witnessed, 3 slain were the Men of the Pit, 4 Of the fuel-fed fire, 5 Lo! [With glee do] they contemplate that [fire,] 6 And they, to what they were doing against the believers, were witnesses. 7 The only reason for which they tormented the believers was the latter's belief in God, the Majestic, and Praiseworthy. 8 Who, to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness over everything. 9 Verily, those who put into trial the believing men and believing women (by torturing them and burning them), and then do not turn in repentance, (to Allah), will have the torment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the burning Fire. 10 Indeed those who believed and did good deeds – for them are Gardens beneath which rivers flow; this is the great success. 11 Surely thy Lord's assault is terrible. 12 Surely it is He who originates, and brings again, 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, 14 Lord of the Arsh, the Glorious, 15 Effecter of what He intends. 16 Have you not heard the story of the hosts 17 Of Firon and Samood? 18 Yet those who deny the truth persist in denial. 19 Allah encompasses them all from behind. 20 Indeed, this is a Glorious Koran, 21 upon an imperishable tablet [inscribed]. 22
