Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Have you heard the story of the overwhelming event (the Day of Judgment)? 1 (Some) faces on that day shall be downcast, 2 Laboring, toiling, 3 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 no food for them except thorny plants 6 Which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 (Whereas other) faces on that Day will be joyful, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 hearing there no babble; 11 with a flowing spring, 12 Within it are couches raised high 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 and cushions arrayed in rows, 15 and carpets outspread. 16 Have they not looked at how the camel is created, 17 And at the Sky, how it is raised high?- 18 how the mountains are set firm, 19 how the earth was outstretched? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 You are not a watcher over them; 22 However, as for him who turns away, being bent on denying the truth, 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26
