Hizb 53
< random >
Did the news of Ibrahim’s honourable guests reach you (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him)? 24 When they came to him they said, "Peace!" He answered, "Peace!" [saying to himself]. "They are strangers." 25 Then he went to his family and came with a fat [roasted] calf 26 and he laid it before them saying, 'Will you not eat?' 27 He therefore inwardly sensed fear of them; they said, “Do not fear!”; and they gave him the glad tidings of a knowledgeable son. 28 Then his wife drew near vociferating, and smote her face, and said: an old barren woman! 29 They said, "Even so has thy Lord spoken: and He is full of Wisdom and Knowledge." 30 ۞ 'Messengers' said he (Abraham), 'what is your errand' 31 They answered: "Behold, we have been sent unto a people lost in sin, 32 so that we bring down stones of clay upon them 33 Marked by your Lord for the Musrifun (polytheists, criminals, sinners those who trespass Allah's set limits in evil-doings by committing great sins). 34 And in the course of time We brought out [of Lot 's city] such [few] believers as were there: 35 But We found there but one house of those surrendered (to Allah). 36 and We left therein a Sign for those who fear the grievous chastisement. 37 And also in Moses, when We sent him unto Pharaoh, with a clear authority, 38 But he turned to his counsellors, and said: "He is a magician or lunatic." 39 Then We laid hold of him and his hosts and flung them into the sea, and he was reproachable. 40 There is another sign in the [tribe of] 'Ad, when We sent against them a life-destroying wind 41 It left out nothing in its path, but which it split up into fragments. 42 There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Thamud. They were told: “Enjoy yourselves for a while.” 43 But they were insolent toward the command of their Lord, so the thunderbolt seized them while they were looking on. 44 Then they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves. 45 Before all these We destroyed the people of Noah: they were a wicked people. 46

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
