The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- 2 And when the earth is stretched, 3 And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand 7 he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, 8 and he shall return to his people, joyfully, 9 And whoever is given his record of deeds behind his back – 10 shall call for destruction 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 And by the night and all that it enshroudeth, 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 You shall certainly travel from stage to stage (in this life and in the Hereafter). 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them do not bow in adoration? ۩ 21 Nay, but the unbelievers are crying lies, 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
