The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ A. L. M. 1 The Romans have been conquered 2 In the neighbouring land. But having been conquered they will conquer 3 in a few years. To Allah belongs the Command before and after, and on that Day the believers will rejoice 4 With the help of Allah. He helps whom He will, and He is exalted in might, most merciful. 5 (It is) the promise of Allah. Never does Allah depart from His promise: but most men understand not. 6 they only know the outward appearance of the life of this world, and they are neglectful of the Hereafter. 7 Have they never thought to themselves that Allah did not create the heavens and the earth and all that is between except with truth, and for a stated term? Yet most people disbelieve that they will ever meet their Lord. 8 Have they not travelled through the earth that they may observe what was the end of their predecessors who were far mightier and tilled the land and built upon it more than these have ever built? And Allah's Messengers came to them with Clear Signs. It was not Allah Who wronged them, but it is they who wronged themselves. 9 And once again: evil is bound to be the end of those who do evil by giving the lie to God's messages and deriding them. 10
