۞ [The angels will be ordered], "Gather those who committed wrong, their kinds, and what they used to worship 22 Beside Allah, and lead them on to the path of the Flaming Fire. 23 And halt them so that they may be questioned. 24 What is the matter with you that you do not help each other? 25 But they, that Day, are in surrender. 26 and approach each other with questions, 27 "It was you who tried to mislead us from righteousness". 28 They will reply: "Nay, ye yourselves had no Faith! 29 We had no authority over you, in fact, you were a rebellious people. 30 So the word of our Lord has come into effect upon us; indeed, we will taste [punishment]. 31 So then, [if it be true that] we have caused you to err grievously - behold, we ourselves had been lost in grievous error!" 32 And verily, on that Day they all will share in their common suffering. 33 Verily that is how We shall deal with Sinners. 34 For when it was said to them: 'There is no god except Allah' they were always proud 35 and replied, "Shall we then give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 Not in the least. He has brought the truth and confirmed the other messengers. 37 You shall certainly taste the painful punishment: 38 And be rewarded but only for what you had done, 39 But Allah's chosen servants (shall be spared this woeful end). 40 For them is a Sustenance determined, 41 a variety of delicious fruits; and they shall be honoured 42 In gardens of pleasure 43 on couches facing each other. 44 a cup filled with wine from its springs, will be passed around to them; 45 white, sparkling (wine), a delight to the drinkers. 46 Neither they will have Ghoul (any kind of hurt, abdominal pain, headache, a sin, etc.) from that, nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 And with them are those of modest gaze, with lovely eyes, 48 like closely guarded pearls. 49 They will turn to each other and ask questions. 50 The speaker among them said, “I had a companion.” – 51 "Who used to say, 'what! art thou amongst those who bear witness to the Truth (of the Message)? 52 after we die and become dust and bones, we shall be brought to judgement?'" 53 He will say: -- Do you wish to know where he is now?' 54 So he looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He said: "By Allah! thou wast little short of bringing me to perdition! 56 And but for the favour of my lord, I should have been of those brought forward. 57 What, do we then not die 58 Saving our former death, and are we not to be punished? 59 Truly, this is the supreme success! 60 For this the toilers should strive." 61 Is such [a paradise] the better welcome - or the [hellish] tree of deadly fruit? 62 which We have made as a torment for the unjust? 63 for, behold, it is a tree that grows in the very heart of the blazing fire [of hell,] 64 and its fruits are like devils' heads. 65 (The people of Hell) will surely eat of it, filling their bellies with it. 66 then in addition to it they shall have a draught of boiling water to drink; 67 Then shall their return be to the (Blazing) Fire. 68 Surely they found their fathers going astray, 69 So they in their footsteps are rushing. 70 Before them a multitude of people of olden times had erred, 71 though We had sent among them warners. 72 Then see what was the end of those who were admonished (but heeded not),- 73 Except the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, and true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 74
