And Nuh did certainly call upon Us, and most excellent answerer of prayer are We. 75 for We saved him and his household from that awesome calamity, 76 And We made his descendants those remaining [on the earth] 77 We perpetuated his praise in later generations. 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all beings!' 79 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 80 For he was one of our believing Servants. 81 Then We drowned the other (disbelievers and polytheists, etc.). 82 ۞ Abraham was one of his followers. 83 When he came to his Lord, with a sound heart. (Free from falsehood). 84 When he said to his father and to his people: "What is it that which you worship? 85 Is it a calumny, gods apart from God, that you desire? 86 What do you imagine the Lord of the worlds to be?" 87 Then he glanced a glance on the stars. 88 and said: “I am sick.” 89 And they turned their backs on him and went away. (The pagans thought he would transmit the disease). 90 He then sneaked upon their deities and said, “Do you not eat?” 91 What is the matter with you, that you do not speak' 92 He then began striking them with his right hand, unseen by the people. 93 So they (people) advanced towards him, hastening. 94 "Why do you worship these you carve yourselves," he asked, 95 "When God has created you and what you make?" 96 They said, "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the blaze!" 97 They desired to outwit him; so We made them the lower ones. 98 He said: 'I will go to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 “My Lord! Give me a meritorious child.” 100 We gave him the good news that he would have a patient, forbearing son. 101 And when he reached the age when he could work with him, he said, "O my son, I have seen in a dream that I am sacrificing you. So tell me what you think of it!" He replied, "O my father, do as you are commanded; and God willing, you will find me steadfast." 102 When they had surrendered, and he flung him upon his brow, 103 We cried out: “O Abraham, 104 thou hast already fulfilled [the purpose of] that dream-vision!" Thus, verily, do We reward the doers of good: 105 Verily, that indeed was a manifest trial 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And We perpetuated (praise) to him among the later generations. 108 Peace be upon Ibrahim! 109 Thus, do We reward the righteous ones. 110 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 111 We gave Abraham the good news of Isaac, a prophet and a righteous man, 112 and We blessed him and Isaac, and from their offspring are some gooddoers, and others who clearly wronged themselves. 113
