The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 It is the shining star -- 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
