The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 He created the human being 3 He has taught him speech (and intelligence). 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 And the skies has He raised high, and has devised [for all things] a measure, 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 but weigh things equitably and skimp not in the balance. 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 And created jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 23 His too are the ships that run, raised up in the sea like land-marks. 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25
