The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 And who glide with ease. 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
