Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
O thou enwrapped! 1 Keep awake [in prayer] at night, all but a small part 2 of one-half thereof - or make it a little less than that, 3 or a little more, but recite the Quran slowly and distinctly. 4 Verily We! anon We shall cast upon thee a weighty word. 5 Indeed getting up in the night is tougher, and the words flow with strength. 6 Lo! thou hast by day a chain of business. 7 So remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with exclusive devotion. 8 Lord of the East and Lord of the West – there is no God except Him, therefore make Him your sole Trustee of affairs. 9 And patiently endure upon what the disbelievers say, and leave them for good. 10 Leave it to Me to deal with the affluent ones who give the lie (to the Truth), and bear with them for a while. 11 Indeed We have heavy fetters and a blazing fire. 12 And food which choketh (the partaker), and a painful doom 13 One Day the earth and the mountains will be in violent commotion. And the mountains will be as a heap of sand poured out and flowing down. 14 Verily We! We have sent unto you an apostle, a witness over you, even as We sent unto Fir'awn an apostle. 15 In response Firaun disobeyed the Noble Messenger, so We seized him with a severe seizure. 16 If you disbelieve, how will you guard yourself against the Day that will make children gray haired, 17 Whereby heaven shall be split, and its promise shall be performed. 18 Verily this is an Admonition: therefore, whoso will, let him take a (straight) path to his Lord! 19
