It is He who sends down rain from the sky; from it is drink and from it is foliage in which you pasture [animals]. 10 and thereby He brings forth for you crops, and olives, and palms, and vines, and all manner of fruit. Surely in that is a sign for a people who reflect. 11 He harnessed the day and night for you, as also the sun, the moon and the stars, by His command. In this are signs for men who understand. 12 And what He has created in the earth of varied hues most surely there is a sign in this for a people who are mindful. 13 And He it is Who has made the sea subservient that you may eat fresh flesh from it and bring forth from it ornaments which you wear, and you see the ships cleaving through it, and that you might seek of His bounty and that you may give thanks. 14 And He cast on the earth firm mountains, lest it shake with you, and rivers and ways; so haply you will be guided; 15 and waymarks; and by the stars they are guided. 16 Is He who creates as he who does not create? Will you not remember? 17 And if ye would count the favours of Allah ye could not compute them; verily Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. 18 And God knows what you keep secret and what you publish. 19 And those whom they worship other than Allah, do not create anything but are themselves created. 20 Dead are they, not alive; and they perceive not when they will be raised up. 21
