Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
HaMeem. 1 I swear by the illustrious Book. 2 We have indeed sent it as a Qur’an in the Arabic language, so that you may understand. 3 And Lo! in the Source of Decrees, which We possess, it is indeed sublime, decisive. 4 [O YOU who deny the truth!] Should We, perchance, withdraw this reminder from you altogether, seeing that you are people bent on wasting your own selves? 5 We have sent many a prophet to earlier peoples 6 but not a Prophet came to them, without they mocked at him; 7 Then We destroyed men stronger (in power) than these, and the example of the ancients has passed away (before them). 8 If you ask them: "Who created the heavens and the earth?" they will answer: "The Mighty and All-knowing created them," 9 [The one] who has made for you the earth a bed and made for you upon it roads that you might be guided 10 That sends down (from time to time) rain from the sky in due measure;- and We raise to life therewith a land that is dead; even so will ye be raised (from the dead);- 11 He who created pairs of everything, and fashioned for you boats and beasts on which you ride, 12 That you may settle yourselves upon their backs and then remember the favor of your Lord when you have settled upon them and say. "Exalted is He who has subjected this to us, and we could not have [otherwise] subdued it. 13 And verily, to Our Lord we indeed are to return! 14 Yet they assign to Him some of His own (created) worshipers! Clearly, the human is unthankful. 15
