Thus did We deliver the Children of Israel from the humiliating chastisement, 30 From Firon; surely he was haughty, (and) one of the extravagant. 31 We knowingly chose them above all other people 32 And sent them tokens to bring out the best in them. 33 Verily these! they say: 34 there is nothing beyond our first death; we shall not be raised again. 35 “Therefore bring back our forefathers, if you are truthful!” 36 Are they, then, better than the people of Tubba and those before them, whom We destroyed because they were truly lost in [the same] sin? 37 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, out of play. 38 We created them with definite purpose; but most of them do not understand. 39 Surely the day of separation is their appointed term, of all of them 40 the day a master shall avail nothing a client, and they shall not be helped, 41 except those to whom Allah shows mercy. He is the Most Mighty, the Most Compassionate. 42
