By the moon, 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 And by oath of the morning, when it spreads light. 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Except those on the right side. 39 in Gardens they will question 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They said, “We never used to offer the prayer.” 43 and we did not feed the poor, 44 We indulged and persisted in useless disputes, 45 And we used to deny the Day of Recompense 46 till the certainty (death) overtook us' 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 As if they were alarmed donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 No indeed; the truth is that they have no fear of the Hereafter. 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 But they [who do not believe in the life to come] will not take it to heart unless God so wills: [for] He is the Fount of all God-consciousness, and the Fount of all forgiveness. 56
