The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 And when the souls are paired 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 by the night swarming, 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 Where then are you going? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
