Do not those who deny the truth see that the heavens and the earth were joined together and that We then split them asunder? And that We have made every living thing out of water? Will they still not believe? 30 We set firm mountains upon the earth lest it should sway under them, and We placed therein passages for paths so that they might find their way. 31 And We made the sky a protected ceiling, but they, from its signs, are turning away. 32 And He it is Who created the night and the day and the sun and the moon; all (orbs) travel along swiftly in their celestial spheres. 33 We appointed immortality for no mortal before thee. What! if thou diest, can they be immortal! 34 Every soul will know the taste of death. We tempt you with evil and with good as a trial; and to Us you will return. 35 (Muhammad), whenever the unbelievers see you, they think that you deserve nothing more than to be mocked. They say, "Is it he, (Muhammad), who speaks against your gods?" But they themselves have no faith at all in the Beneficent God. 36 Man is hasty by nature. I shall certainly show you My Signs. Do not ask Me to be hasty. 37 They say: 'If you are truthful, when will this promise come' 38 If those who disbelieved but knew the time when they will not avert the Fire from their faces or from their backs and they will not be aided... 39 Nay, it may come to them all of a sudden and confound them: no power will they have then to avert it, nor will they (then) get respite. 40 And certainly apostles before you were scoffed at, then there befell those of them who scoffed that at which they had scoffed. 41
