It is He Who has endowed you with the faculties of hearing and sight and has given you hearts (to think). Scarcely do you give thanks. 78 And it is He who has multiplied you throughout the earth, and to Him you will be gathered. 79 And it is He who gives life and causes death, and His is the alternation of the night and the day. Then will you not reason? 80 Aye! they say the like of that which said the ancients. 81 They said, "When we have died and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected? 82 "Such things have been promised to us and to our fathers before! they are nothing but tales of the ancients!" 83 (Muhammad), say to them, "Tell me, if you know, to whom does the earth and its contents belong?" 84 They will quickly reply, "It belongs to God." Say, "Will you not, then, take heed?" 85 Ask them, "Who is the Lord of the seven heavens and the Great Throne?" 86 They will say, "They belong to God." Say, "So do you not fear Him?" 87 Ask them, "If you have any knowledge, in whose hands is the ownership of all things? Who is the one who gives protection and yet He Himself is never protected?" 88 They will surely say: "(The dominion over all things) belongs to Allah." Say: "Whence are you then deluded?" 89 We have sent them the Truth: but they indeed practise falsehood! 90 Never did God take unto Himself any offspring, nor has there ever been any deity side by side with Him: [for, had there been any,] lo! each deity would surely have stood apart [from the others] in whatever it had created, and they would surely have [tried to] overcome one another! Limitless in His glory is God, [far] above anything that men may devise by way of definition, 91 The knower of the absent and the present, too exalted is He for what they associate (with Him)! 92
