And indeed, the Qur'an is the revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 The Trustworthy Spirit, Angel Jibreel - peace be upon him, brought it down. 193 To thy heart and mind, that thou mayest admonish. 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 And verily, [the essence of] this [revelation] is indeed found in the ancient books of divine wisdom [as well]. 196 Was it not a sign for them, that it is known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 (But such is their adamance) that had We revealed it to one of the non-Arabs and even if he had recited (this clear Arabic discourse) to them 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed. 199 Thus it passes through the hearts of the criminals. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 The torment will strike them suddenly without their knowledge. 202 Then they will say: "Shall we be respited?" 203 So do they wish to hasten Our punishment? 204 Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for years 205 and then Our torment will strike them, 206 of what avail to them will be all their past enjoyments? 207 We never destroyed any town without first sending to them warning and guidance. 208 To advise; and We never oppress. 209 And [this divine writ is such a reminder:] no evil spirits have brought it down: 210 It is not allowable for them, nor would they be able. 211 Indeed they are debarred from even hearing it. 212 So call not thou unto another god along with Allah, lest thou be of the doomed. 213 and warn your nearest kinsmen; 214 and extend kindness and affection to those of the believers who follow you. 215 And if they disobey you, then say, "Indeed, I am disassociated from what you are doing." 216 And put thy trust on the Exalted in Might, the Merciful,- 217 Who sees you when you arise 218 And your movement among those who prostrate. 219 He is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. 220 Shall I inform you, (O people!), on whom it is that the evil ones descend? 221 They descend on every guilty impostor. 222 They give ear, but most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, only the wayward follow them. 224 Seest thou not that they wander distracted in every valley?- 225 And they speak what they do not do? 226 Save those that believe, and do righteous deeds, and remember God oft, and help themselves after being wronged; and those who do wrong shall surely know by what overturning they will be overturned. 227
