Has the story of Abraham's honoured guests come to you? 24 When those [heavenly messengers] came unto him and bade him peace, he answered, "[And upon you be] peace!" - [saying to himself,] "They are strangers." 25 So he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf. 26 And placed it before them.. he said, "Will ye not eat?" 27 And he felt from them apprehension. They said, "Fear not," and gave him good tidings of a learned boy. 28 His wife came forward, crying and beating her face, saying, "I am an old barren woman!" 29 They said, "This is true but your Lord has said, (that you will have a son); He is All-wise and All-knowing". 30 ۞ Abraham asked, "What is your errand, O messengers?" 31 They replied, "We have been sent to a sinful people, 32 so that we may bring down upon them a shower of stones of clay, 33 Marked in the presence of your Lord for the transgressors." 34 So We brought out from therein the believers. 35 for apart from one [single] house We did not find there any who had surrendered themselves to Us. 36 and We left therein a Sign for those who fear the grievous chastisement. 37 In Moses, too, (there were signs). We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority, 38 But (Pharaoh) turned back with his Chiefs, and said, "A sorcerer, or one possessed!" 39 We seized him and his hosts, and cast them all into the sea: and [none but Pharaoh] himself was to blame [for what happened]. 40 And in the 'Ad (people) (was another Sign): Behold, We sent against them the devastating Wind: 41 which turned everything it approached into dust. 42 And in the Thamud (was another Sign): Behold, they were told, "Enjoy (your brief day) for a little while!" 43 Then they turned in disdain from the commandment of their Lord, and the thunderbolt took them and they themselves beholding 44 So they were not able to stand, nor could they help themselves. 45 (So were) the people of Nuh (Noah) before them. Verily, they were a people who were Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah). 46
