Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 And the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
