The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 And when the stars darken, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Where then will you go? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
