The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Woe to the defrauders, 1 Those who, when they take by measure from mankind, exact the full, 2 but when they measure or weigh, give less. 3 Do they not realize that they will be resurrected 4 on a Great Day, 5 The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 Indeed! The record of the wicked is in the Sijjin -- 7 and what shall teach thee what is Sijjin? 8 A written record. 9 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 10 Those that deny the Day of Judgment. 11 Which none denieth save each criminal transgressor, 12 When Our revelations are conveyed to him, he says, "Fables of the ancients!" 13 No indeed! Their own deeds have cast a veil over their hearts. 14 No indeed; but upon that day they shall be veiled from their Lord, 15 Then lo! they verily will burn in hell, 16 Then it will be said [to them], "This is what you used to deny." 17 No! Indeed, the record of the righteous is in 'illiyyun. 18 But how will you comprehend what 'Illiyun is? 19 A Register inscribed. 20 Which is witnessed by those brought near [to Allah]. 21 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 22 On adorned couches, observing. 23 Thou wilt recognise in their faces the beaming brightness of Bliss. 24 They are made to quaff of a pure drink that is sealed (to others). 25 The sealing of it is (with) musk; and for that let the aspirers aspire. 26 Blended with the water of Tasnim, (heights ultimate of evolution), 27 The spring from which drink the ones close to Allah. 28 BEHOLD, those who have abandoned themselves to sin are wont to laugh at such as have attained to faith 29 And whenever they passed by them, used to wink at each other (in mockery); 30 And when they went back to their people turned to make fun of them; 31 and when they saw them said: 'These are they who are astray' 32 Yet they were not sent to be their guardians. 33 But this Day (the Day of Resurrection) those who believe will laugh at the disbelievers 34 On high couches, gazing. 35 Have the unbelievers been rewarded what they were doing? 36
