And assuredly the dwellers of Hijr belied the sent ones. 80 And We gave them Our signs, but from them they were turning away. 81 They used to hew out houses from the mountains and lived in security. 82 and so the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at early morn, 83 and that which they had earned did not help them. 84 And We have not created the heaven and the earth and that which is in between them save with a purpose. And verily the Hour is surely coming; so overlook thou with a seemly overlooking, 85 Your Lord is certainly the All-knowing Creator. 86 We have indeed bestowed on you the seven oft-repeated verses and the Great Qur'an. 87 Do not yearn for other people's property and wives and do not grieve (that they do not believe). Be kind to the believers. 88 and say, "I am, indeed, a plain warner," 89 Like as We sent down on the dividers 90 Those who made the Quran into shreds. 91 Them, by thy Lord, We shall question, every one, 92 for whatever they have done! 93 Proclaim then, what you are commanded and turn away from the unbelievers. 94 We suffice thee against the mockers, 95 and those who set up other gods with Allah, indeed, they will soon know. 96 And surely We know that your breast straitens at what they say; 97 Therefore celebrate the praise of your Lord, and be of those who make obeisance. 98 And worship your Lord until there comes unto you the certainty (i.e. death). 99
