The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
