The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Draws near for mankind their reckoning, while they turn away in heedlessness. 1 Whenever any fresh admonition comes to them from their Lord, they listen to it, but do not take it seriously; 2 their hearts being set on other concerns. The wrong-doers whisper to one another: "This person is no more than a mortal like yourselves. Will you, then, be enchanted by sorcery while you see?" 3 He (Muhammad SAW) said: "My Lord knows (every) word (spoken) in the heavens and on earth. And He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower." 4 Nay, but they say: 'A hotchpotch of nightmares! Nay, he has forged it; nay, he is a poet! Now therefore let him bring us a sign, even as the ancient ones were sent as Messengers.' 5 Not a [single] city which We destroyed believed before them, so will they believe? 6 And We sent not before you (O Muhammad SAW) but men to whom We inspired, so ask the people of the Reminder [Scriptures - the Taurat (Torah), the Injeel (Gospel)] if you do not know. 7 We did not give them bodies that needed no food, nor were they to live forever. 8 then We made true the promise We gave them and We delivered them, and whomsoever We would; and We destroyed the prodigal. 9 Certainly We have revealed to you a Book in which is your good remembrance; what! do you not then understand? 10
