The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 he was created of gushing water 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 They are devising guile, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
