The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers; 1 They who are during their prayer humbly submissive 2 who avoid whatever is vain and frivolous; 3 Who are active in deeds of charity; 4 and restrain their carnal desires 5 Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame; 6 Those who seek beyond that are transgressors. 7 who are true to their trusts and their covenants, 8 and who guard their prayers [from all worldly intent]. 9 These are they who are the heirs, 10 Who will inherit Paradise: they will dwell therein (for ever). 11 Indeed We created man from a chosen soil. 12 then We placed him as a drop of fluid in a safe place, 13 then We created of the drop a clot then We created of the clot a tissue then We created of the tissue bones then We garmented the bones in flesh; thereafter We produced him as another creature. So blessed be God, the fairest of creators! 14 Then indeed, after that you are to die. 15 and be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And We have created above you seven paths, and We are never unmindful of creation. 17 And We sent down out of heaven water in measure and lodged it in the earth; and We are able to take it away. 18 We have produced palm-groves and vineyards for you, in which there are abundant fruits for you; and you eat these, 19 and a tree issuing from the Mount of Sinai that bears oil and seasoning for all to eat. 20 And lo! in the cattle there is verily a lesson for you. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and many uses have ye in them, and of them do ye eat; 21 And on them and on the ships you are borne. 22
