He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ (The Prophet) frowned and turned away, 1 that the blind man came to him. 2 for how can you know that he might seek to purify himself, 3 or receive some (Quranic) advice which would benefit him. 4 For him who does not care, 5 Unto him thou attendest. 6 What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). 7 And for him who came to you striving, 8 And whereas he fears, 9 From him you are distracted. 10 Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Quran) are an admonition, 11 So whoever wills, let him pay attention to it. 12 (This Quran) is also recorded in honorable books, 13 uplifted, purified, 14 In the hands of scribes 15 noble and pious. 16 May man be slain - how ungrateful he is! 17 From what did He create him? 18 From a (sperm) drop He created him and then determined him, 19 He makes his path easy for him. 20 Then He caused him to die and be buried 21 and then, whenever He wishes, He will raise him back to life. 22 Yet man declines to do His bidding. 23 Then let man look at his food, 24 That We pour forth water in abundance, 25 Then We cleave the earth, cleaving (it) asunder, 26 And cause the grain to grow therein 27 together with grapes and vegetables, 28 Olives and dates, 29 and gardens dense with foliage, 30 And fruits and herbage 31 for you and for your herds to delight in. 32 But, when the Blast comes, 33 That Day shall a man flee from his brother, 34 and his mother and his father; 35 And his wife and his sons; 36 every man that day shall have business to suffice him. 37 On that day faces will be bright as dawn, 38 and be cheerful and joyous. 39 Some faces on that Day shall be dust-ridden, 40 Blackness will cover them. 41 Those, they are the unbelievers, the immoral. 42
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
