۞ AND [there came a time when] We inspired Moses thus: "Go forth with My servants by night: for, behold, you will be pursued!" 52 Then Pharaoh sent heralds to (all) the Cities, 53 'Behold, these are a small troop, 54 who have certainly provoked our wrath. 55 and we are a host on our guard' 56 So We removed them from gardens and springs 57 and [deprived them of their erstwhile] station of honour!" 58 Thus it was, but We made the Children of Israel inheritors of such things. 59 At sunrise they set off in pursuit of them 60 And when the two parties saw each other, the companions of Musa said: verily we are overtaken. 61 Said he, 'No indeed; surely my Lord is with me; He will guide me.' 62 Then We inspired Moses, saying: Smite the sea with thy staff. And it parted, and each part was as a mountain vast. 63 And We brought the others close to that place. 64 And We saved Moses and those with him, every one; 65 then, We drowned the others. 66 Surely in that there is a sign; yet most of them do not believe: 67 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 68
