The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the Terror descends 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 It will bring low (some); (and others) it will exalt; 3 When the earth will tremble, shivering. 4 And the hills are ground to powder 5 and become like scattered dust particles, 6 And ye will be three kinds: 7 So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands), Who will be those on the Right Hand? (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise). 8 And the People on the Left: and how miserable will be the People on the Left! 9 As for the Foremost, they will be the foremost! 10 These will be those nearest to Allah. 11 In gardens of delight; 12 A multitude of those of old 13 And a few of later ages, 14 (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, 15 Reclining thereon, face to face. 16 immortal youths going round about them 17 With cups, and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine, 18 neither causing headaches, nor intoxication; 19 And fruit; that they may choose. 20 And meat of birds that they may wish. 21 And [with them will be their] companions pure, most beautiful of eye, 22 Like unto Pearls well-guarded. 23 [And this will be] a reward for what they did [in life]. 24 Not frivolity will they hear therein, nor any taint of ill,- 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 And those on the Right Hand, Who will be those on the Right Hand? 27 [They, too, will find themselves] amidst fruit laden lote-trees, 28 And clustered plantains, 29 And shade extended 30 and gushing water, 31 And fruit abundant. 32 never-failing and never out of reach. 33 They shall be on upraised couches, 34 and the noble maidens that We have created 35 And made them virgins, 36 loving and of equal age. 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
