T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Ta, Ha. 1 We have not sent down the Qur'an to thee to be (an occasion) for thy distress, 2 but as a reminder to he who fears. 3 A revelation from Him Who created the earth and the high heavens. 4 The Most Merciful [who is] above the Throne established. 5 To Him belongs what is in the heavens and what is on the earth and what is between them and what is under the soil. 6 If you speak loudly; He has indeed knowledge of the secret and the hidden. 7 God -- there is no god but He. To Him belong the Names Most Beautiful. 8 Hath there come unto thee the story of Moses? 9 When he saw fire, he said to his family: Stop, for surely I see a fire, haply I may bring to you therefrom a live coal or find a guidance at the fire. 10 And when he came to it, he was called, "O Moses, 11 Verily I! I am thy Lord: so take off thy shoes; verily thou art into the holy valley, Tuwa. 12 and I have chosen thee [to be My apostle]: listen, then, to what is being revealed [unto thee]. 13 "Verily, I - I alone - am God; there is no deity save Me. Hence, worship Me alone, and be constant in prayer, so as to remember Me! 14 Verily the Hour is coming - I wish to conceal it - in order that every one may be requited according to that which he hath endeavoured. 15 "Therefore, let not the one who believes not therein (i.e. in the Day of Resurrection, Reckoning, Paradise and Hell, etc.), but follows his own lusts, divert you therefrom, lest you perish. 16 And what is that in your right hand, O Moses?" 17 He said: This is my staff whereon I lean, and wherewith I bear down branches for my sheep, and wherein I find other uses. 18 Said He, 'Cast it down, Moses!' 19 So he cast it down; and lo! it was a serpent running. 20 God said, "Take hold of it, and have no fear: We shall return it to its former state. 21 Now clasp thy hand to thy arm-pit; it shall come forth white, without evil. That is a second sign. 22 so that We might make thee aware of some of Our greatest wonders. 23 "Go thou to Pharaoh, for he has indeed transgressed all bounds." 24
