Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
We sent Noah to his People (with the Command): "Do thou warn thy People before there comes to them a grievous Penalty." 1 He said: O my people! Lo! I am a plain warner unto you 2 Worship Allah, fear Him, and obey me. 3 He will forgive you some of your faults and grant you a delay to an appointed term; surely the term of Allah when it comes is not postponed; did you but know! 4 He said: “My Lord, I called my people by night and by day, 5 but the more I called, the farther they fled. 6 And whenever I have called them that Thou mayest forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, cover themselves with their garments, and persist and are puffed up with pride: 7 And lo! I have called unto them aloud, 8 And declared to them in public and in private, 9 I said to them: “Ask forgiveness from your Lord; surely He is Most Forgiving. 10 He will let loose the sky upon you in abundance 11 And He will add unto you riches and children and will appoint unto you gardens and will appoint unto you rivers. 12 What is the matter with you that you deny the greatness of God, 13 seeing He created you by stages? 14 Behold ye not in what wise Allah hath created seven heavens in storeys. 15 and set the moon therein for a light and the sun for a lamp? 16 And Allah has brought you forth from the (dust of) earth.
