The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 And those who govern the event, 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
