The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
