Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds sent forth with beneficence. 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 and place it in a secure place 21 For a known extent. 22 Then We facilitated (your birth). How well do We calculate! 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
